Grape Seed Extract – Make a lighter color?
I would be surprised if anyone can answer this, here goes, grape seed extract mixed water reddish brown in color. It's a fantastic antioxidant when used in products for skin care, creams and lotions but makes a horrible mud color. I'm looking for something natural that can reduce Red maybe a light yellow. Oh, and also has to be pH 5-6, so that makes it difficult. No person has been able to do this however so any proposal will be analyzed.
The best method to remove the extract are colors column chromatography. You may prove the best solvent and adsorbens by thin layer chromatography, but risks losing the active ingredients. The principle antioxidant in grape seed extract are (oligomeric) proanthocyanidins. Their color depends on the pH and purity.
