wine grape seeds for sale
With all of the talk about the value of grape seed extracts and the grape seed antioxidants they contain, you might want to try growing your own grapes. There is nothing better than going out to a grape vine and grabbing a bunch of grapes to eat. Although, grinding down the grape seeds and extracting the grape seed antioxidants is not so easy to do.

Of course, you can make red wines from your grapes and those will contain a certain amount of Resveratrol. And, in fact, producing your own wine is a great way to relax in your off time…

For more about making wine, check out, The Secrets of Making Wine.

To learn how to grow grapes, I recommend: The Complete Grape Growing System.

=>Of course, you may want to buy grape seed extract supplements instead of growing your own… Check out ProResvera, one of many excellent grape seed antioxidant products.

grape seed extract

The Health Benefits of Grape Seed Extract

By Paul Ghossain

Grape seed extract is a liquid or powdery substance that is derived from the small seeds of red grapes. Occasionally, grape seed extract may come from the skins of red grapes. Grape seed extract is a rich source of flavonoids, which are phytochemicals that contain antioxidant properties. Many people believe that these flavonoids are just as vital as vitamin C and vitamin E to maintaining health.

The health benefits of grapes seed extract – A supplement rich in cancer-fighting properties

Antioxidants are substances that help the body to remove free radicals, which are cancer causing agents. Free radicals are unstable oxygen molecules that can contribute to the development of numerous harmful conditions in the body. This is the reason grape seed extract supplements that are rich in antioxidants have become popular.

The most valued of flavonoids found in grape seed extract are procyanidolic oligomers or proanthocyanidins (PCOs). Aside from their powerful antioxidant properties, PCOs are also reported to improve blood circulation. The PCOs from grape seed extract help strengthen blood vessels, resulting in improved heart function and a reduction in cancer cells.

Health benefits of grape seed extract – blood circulation

European doctors often prescribe drugs containing PCOs for vascular disorders.

Taking grape seed extract can help improve blood circulation, which help prevent leg cramps, diabetes complications, varicose veins, numbness in the extremities, muscular degeneration, cataracts and impotence. Because most of these health conditions more commonly occur and are severe among the elderly, grape seed extract can be especially beneficial to them.

Grape seed extract is also believed to partially block the release of prostaglandin, the substance responsible for causing pain and inflammation in disorders such as endometriosis.

Grape seed extract is commonly used as an ingredient in European facial creams. When used as a topical ointment, grape seed extract is believed to help maintain the skin’s elasticity.

The antioxidants in grape seed extract help protect muscle cells attacked by free radicals. As a result, those who wish to reduce the painful symptoms of fibromyalgia often take grape seed extract. Although the exact cause of fibromyalgia is not yet known, its painful symptoms include chronic muscle pain and stiffness.

Countless studies have shown that antioxidants play some part in reducing the number of cancer cells in the body. Because of this, people who are at risk for cancer often use grape seed extract. It is believed that the antioxidants in grape seed extract neutralize cell mutations that lead to tumor formation. It is hoped that by taking grape seed extract, the progression of common cancers such as lung cancer, breast cancer, prostate cancer, colon cancer and skin cancer can be halted.

Buying grape seed extract

Grape seed extract supplements are available in many forms and they are generally inexpensive. These supplements can be purchased in tablet, liquid or capsule form. The standardized formula for the grape seed extract should be labeled as 92% or 95% PCO.

Aside from grape seed extract, PCOs are also found in maritime pine. PCOs drawn from maritime pines have the same health benefits and therapeutic benefits as PCOs drawn from grape seed extract. However, maritime pines are more expensive and have a more limited supply than grape seeds.

grape seed dose

April 18th, 2010 admin No comments

grape seed dose
how long it takes for the dose of a grapefruit tree from seed to fruit production?

I have a grape fruit tree that my grandfather started from a seed and wondered what I should do to get the fruit production. its probably 5 years.

Dr. Malcolm M. Manners, citrus science professor at Florida Southern College and a consultant to the Florida citrus industry, its response was published some years ago, but has since been removed. He said that grapefruit trees, like other citrus fruits are not of age in years as people. Instead, it is measured in lymph. Nodes, you probably know, are the nodes up and down a stem where leaves are growing. Grapefruit trees have to be very, very high to reach the point that has nodules of sufficient size to reach flowering. I've seen some reports that are not sufficiently high as 15 feet. In other words, if you are growing in this windowsill, greenhouse or even in average, and want to pick your own grapefruit tree outside for breakfast, do not hold your breath. The high Profile Dr. Manners has straightened out more than a producer of grapefruit south courtyard. Here is his Q & A session in Southern Living Magazine: www.southernliving.com/food/how-to/how-to-tell-when-citrus-fruit-is-ripe-00400000006283 Oh, that will only help you once your tree blooms. posed the question to Dr. Manners. Yes, really, really did. And the doctor told me manners. He said the number of nodes is indeed the decisive factor when you pick grapefruit. "It varies from variety to variety, so no one has ever published exact figures, "he said." With grapefruit, I would say somewhere in the 8 to 10 feet high zone. "Remember, that's an estimate, albeit from of a famous celebrity citrus. Odds are, even now know what 'variety' grapefruit seed planted years ago 5. But what the heck. May so be prepared. Dr. manners gives a brief lesson in life south of describing how to count, perhaps, when his grapefruits are ready for collection: "Malcolm Manners recommends that you try one or two for flavor before catching a lot of your tree. "tastes vary, so its citrus has come exactly when tastes mature for you. 'It also explains, the young trees – especially grapefruit and navel oranges – may carry dry fruits for the first concise year or two. "After the third or fourth year, most citrus trees can be expected to bear good fruit generous quantities, and will continue producing at this level for 25 years or more. "Suggestion: Remove any fruit of a newly planted tree so that will put all their energy into growth. You raise one better, stronger tree cultivation sacrificing this bit first. "Start counting nodes. How important are the nodes? Well if you cut the top of a grapefruit tree in flower and deep-rooted that the new "tree" grow grapefruit. Still 'thinks' is growing at the top of the tree age. The node does not know …. Very fascinating, if you think about it. Patience, my friend. Good things come to those who wait.
